    In Morgan County, the downtown is receiving a massive overhaul. Have you been there lately? This downtown is under a transformation and 21 North Eatery is front and center. The new gastropub (a British term meaning a pub that features high quality food) is Martinsville's first of its kind.

    We have been hearing so many inspiring stories of restaurant owners that are making dreams a reality! This one is no different! Owner, Connie Musgrave, has had different careers in the past but has always come back to her passion of food. She is woman, hear her roar. Connie had a plan and turned her motto of "doing the if" into action. She took a chance on an old diplapidated building and with much elbow grease and determination, turned the place into a cozy downtown gastropub. Connie's motto is doing the "If". We love it!

    Alt Text Matt Harakal is the French trained chef that spearheads the menu in conjunction with Connie Musgrave. This multi-generational gathering spot is rich in history dating back to 1898. The exposed brick walls gives a histoical feel with arched walls and wooden tables which give a this place a cozy, warm, and inviting ambiance.

    Do you know the term - Amuse-Bouche? Literally the meaning is "amuse the mouth". It is a small sampling of food served to whet your palate. How to say it: uh-muse boosh. This is the ultimate "Amuse-Bouche" in our opinion. Chef's Cured Meat & Assorted Cheese Tray features baby gherkins, fig preserves, local honeycomb, red onion jam & house made mustard. It's superb way to start out your experience or "whet the palate".

    Alt Text Grilled Herb Chicken Breast is one of their most popular sandwiches. A funky spin on the chicken sandwich. Topped with handcrafted fig aioli, fresh arugula, brie cheese, and fresh brioche bun. The additional toppings are what we love about this sandwich! Choose from oyster mushrooms, cheddar, provolone, goat cheese, fried egg, Cotswold Cheddar Cheese or their special handcrafted Red Onion Jam.

    Lightly Seasoned Pan Seared Filet Steak w/cabernet jus. Tender is an understatement and as a friend always states "it's all about the sauce". How true with this decadent cabernet mushroom au jus.

    The desserts at 21 North are hand made daily and vary depending on the baking schedule. Some of the most popular desserts are the apple cinnamon cake with vanilla ice cream and the pumpkin cheesecake with caramel topping.

    21 North + Eatery is an impressive place not only on the belly but ambiance is such an important piece to any dining experience.
