The tenderloin isn't Indiana's state sandwich. At least, not yet.

A new bill in the Indiana Senate would give the breaded tenderloin sandwich its place alongside the cardinal and the tulip tree as a Hoosier symbol. 

INDIANAPOLIS — A bill introduced in the Indiana Senate would name the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich the official state sandwich of Indiana.

Senate Bill 21, authored by former State Sen. Andy Zay, would add a new chapter to Indiana Code saying: 

"The breaded tenderloin sandwich, made from Indiana 6 raised pork, is designated as the official state sandwich of Indiana."
