Perry County, An Indiana Hidden Gem by Lindsey Skeen

Winzerwald Winery is one of many stops in Perry County, Indiana. Known for their German and Swiss Heritage influences as grapes were brought over by from Germany generations ago. Tell City, the county seat, is a river town of 7500 people nestled on the Ohio River. It may be a small town but it packs a big punch in the restaurant arena. The Post Restaurant, a historic former United States Post Office turned restaurant specializes in American cuisine. The restaurant still has the bank vault from the early 1900s. The Pour Haus Pub and Eatery is housed in the former Tell City Foundry and Machine Works, one of Tell Citys earliest industries, established circa 1876-80. The restaurant recently opened a brewery featuring craft brews and other Indiana beer. Julie's Tell City Café is a local and tourist favorite. Breakfast and lunch are served daily with low prices and generous portions. For more information www.indianafoodways.com
